Readers’ Reverie Literary Club works under the aegis of Department of Humanities and Students’ Representative Council. The Club organizes various events for the students of the college under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Humanities, Dr. Deepshika Mehra and Faculty In charge of Readers’ Reverie Literary Club, Dr. Pratishruti Singh in collaboration with the SRC.
It is the forum where students with a passion for art meet and discuss ideas ranging from depths of wisdom found in do has to fickleness of youth found in contemporary fiction.
The club values freedom of expression and open-mindedness and is exactly the place one would come and hone their articulation and debating skills. The club also represents a place where engaging with differing viewpoints is encouraged to have a better learning experience in college life. The club doesn’t restrict itself to the literary spectrum of art, it embraces every expression be it in any form.

Readers Reverie Literary club, under the aegis of Department of Humanities, organized a series of Literary events, exclusively for the first years of RBU, on the 14th and 15th of February 2018.
It was a first of its kind event held in the college, as it not only provided a platform, to the first years to participate in various literary events, but also inculcated a sense of team work and unity amongst the classmates as it was an Inter Class competition, with one section emerging as the overall winners.

Auditions for all the above mentioned events were conducted on the 10th and 12th of February with only the best amongst the lot proceeding towards the final rounds. It started with an inaugural ceremony which was graced by Dr.S.D.Mohgaonkar, Dean, First year, Ms. Pratishruti Singh-Agrawal, Faculty In-charge, Readers Reverie Literary Club and Mr.Neeraj Dayaramani, Student Head, Readers’ Reverie Literary Club.
Dr. Mohgaonkar in his address stated the importance of conducting such activities for the overall development of an individual, and also congratulated the team of Readers Reverie Literary Club for the initiative to include events such as Hindi elocution and Quiz.
The events saw the first years participating enthusiastically in all the fronts.
Dr. V.H. Asudani was the judge for Abhivyakti.
The Quizmaster for InQUIZitive was Mr.Rahul Bhagat.
Speak out Loud was judged by Dr. Anjali Patil-Gaikwad.
The valedictory function was graced by Dr. Deepshikha Mehra, Head, Department of Humanities. She handed away
the prizes to all the prize winners. Section G emerged as the overall champions and bagged the rolling
shield. Section G class representatives along with their class teacher, Prof. Rahul M, Assistant Professor,
Department of Civil Engineering received the shield on the class’ behalf.
Youth Parliament is an event organised by Readers’ Reverie Literary Club in collaboration with Students’ Representative Council. This year, it was held on 12th January 2019, Saturday. The judge for the Youth Parliament was Dr. G.S. Khwaja, an acclaimed scholar in the field of Archaeology, an Urdu poet, actor and retired professor. Dr. Khwaja was welcomed by Dr. Y.M.Sonkhaskar, Dean, SRC and felicitated with the College memento by Dr. Deepshikha Mehra, HoD, Humanities. Faculty-in-charge, Readers’ Reverie Literary Club, Ms. Pratishruti Singh-Agarwal was also present. The Speakers of the Parliament were Ayush Rastogi and Sai Shashank. Initially, the branches were allotted different political parties of India by drawing lots and were asked to make a bill depending on the given parties’ ideologies. The parliament consisted of three rounds. The first round was the bill presentation round wherein the parties were given a time slot of five minutes for presenting their bills using PowerPoint presentation. After the completion of first round, second round was questioning round by the parties, wherein the bills were questioned. Each party was allowed to ask a maximum of two questions. The third round was a surprise round in which the speaker of the Youth Parliament asked questions based on general political awareness. Every party was asked one question about International Politics. A special round on report drafting of the Youth Parliament was also held. Since a tie was encountered, the judge decided to ask one common question to both the parties in tie and on the basis of the answer given by them, the winner was decided. The winner of Youth Parliament was Mechanical department. The programme was compered by Ms. Puneet Bhatia. Literary Club student coordinators, Ms. Sachi Fulwani and Shivani Khatri along with SRC members and Readers’ Reverie Literary Club members worked hard for the successful conduction of the programme. The trophy of the ‘Youth Parliament’ will be awarded in the valedictory function of Pratishruti 2019.
The annual Debate competition for the first year students Organized by Readers’ Reverie Literary Club under the aegis of Department of Humanities In association with Students’ Representative CouncilDr. Satish Mohgaonkar, Dean 2nd shift, and the faculties of Department of Humanities also graced the occasion. A total of 22 finalists were selected out of 100 for the final debate round. The preliminary round for the selection of finalists was an elocution competition. The topic of the debate was‘Riots and Rituals: are both similar?’ Mr.Yash Khandelwal won speaking for the motion & Mr. Raghav Lohit emerged as winner, speaking against the motion. Aditya Tripathi and Chetan Pandey bagged the second position respectively. The main aim of the event was to make the new members of the ‘Literary club’ aware of the debating culture. In the end Prof. Akanksha Deshpande presented the vote thanks.
SOL on 23rd Sept 2016 Readers’ Reverie Literary Club was established in association with Department of Humanities in 2013 to promote reading habit among students to facilitate the competence of reading and speaking. Club organises two annual events: Speak out loud, a debate competition for 1st year and Youth Parliament. Wide range of activities are organised by the club for the Literary cup. Dr. V.H. Asudani is the Mentor faculty with Dr. Monika Seth and Ms. Pratishruti Singh as coordinators for the club.
The inter-branch literary cup brought out the orators and the writers showcasing creativity in all forms. Events for the literary cup were organised from 6th Jan 2016 to 25th Jan 2016. Students from UG and PG branches enthusiastically participated in various events of the cup such as debate, elocution, creative writing, Jam, Quiz, etc. Electronics Engineering branch won the Literary cup for this year. Civil Engineering bagged the 2nd position while Computer Science Engineering branch stood 3rd.
