IEI Paryavaran Saathi Award

The Institution of Engineers (India), Nagpur Local Centre (IEI NLC) has instituted an award - “IEI Paryavaran Saathi Award” to honor the Academic Institutions/ NGOs entities for the excellent work actually done in field for Environmental Protection / Awareness. The award is conferred upon a selected Institute / Organization / Individual / NGO every year on World Environment Day (WED) Celebration at IEI premises. This year, the award was reserved for a deserving academic institution / college sparing extra time and efforts in the field of environment Protection and its awareness. While doing actual work in the field of Environment Protection and Awareness (EPA) is important, acknowledging and Institution of Engineers had recommended Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering who are already working in that field.As a motivation the college for their indirect way of contribution to the cause of EPA and as a proactive step. All the applications were scrutinized by the panel of Jury and the winner for this year was announced and felicitated during World Environment Day Celebration 2023 by IEI NLC. Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management was placed 2nd Runners up . On this occasion Er. Milind Pathak Chairman IEI NLC, Dr. J. F. Agrawal Hon. Secretary IEL NLC presented the “IEI Paryavaran Saathi Award” to the college . The Award was received by Dr R.S. Pande, Principal and Dr Swaroop Laxmi Mudliar, Incharge - Green Audit.



1.Bird race during Wildlife Week 2016

REEF (Shri Ramdeobaba college Engineers for Environment Forum), the environment club of RCOEM, won the Vidarbha Bird Race organised by Maharashtra Forest Department in association with Birds of Vidarbha on account of Wildlife Week celebrated from 1st to 7th October 2016. This is the 3rd consequent win for REEF in different bird races organized in Nagpur in the past one and a half years. REEF stood 1st among 30 teams that participated from all over Vidarbha. The team was led by Rohit Hazare (3rd Year, EC). The other members were Harjot Singh Kahai (4th Year, Civil), Atharva Mangrulkar (2nd Year, IT), Himanshu Gunde (2nd Year, EDT), and Udayann Dayaanand (2nd Year, Civil). A Bird Race is a full day competition where a group of experienced and budding birdwatchers spend an entire day spotting and identifying as many species of birds as possible. The team which is able to identify the maximum number of bird species wins the race. Winning is based on many aspects like knowledge and identification skills.

2.WIPRO Earthian 2014 Award

REEF (Shri Ramdeobaba college Engineers for Environment Forum) members had participated and have been adjudged as the winners of Wipro Earthian 2014, an international competition for schools and colleges. The winning team comprised of the team guide and mentor faculty of REEF Dr. Deepshikha Mehra, team leader Rohan Dekate, Aaditya Somani, Vishakha Jaiswal, Radhika Kale and Manas Agrawal. The college and REEFians were awarded a prize money of rupees 1.5 lakhs and were invited to Bangalore for the prize distribution and interaction to engage the college with its CEP (Continuous Engagement Program) on 7th and 8th of February respectively. They emerged as a winner of this international competition among with India”s other premier institutions like IISc Bangalore, IIM Indore, NIT Trichy, XLRI Jamshedpur, etc.

3.Tide Turners challenge”21

United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) organized the challenge to reduce the single use plastics on our ocean, rivers, and lands with many organizations (CEE AND WWF). The competition REEF club took the challenge and participated actively. The club presented some innovative ideas, and many activities were done to make people aware about the single use plastics.



REEF club secured the position as, the champions of tide turner”s challenge.
