Indian Analytical Science Congress 2024 (IASC-2024)
The International Analytical Science Congress, held under the theme of “Analytical Sciences and Technologies: Futuristic Trends for Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Development,” was organized from the 22nd to the 24th of February 2024. This intellectual confluence was a result of collaborative initiatives between the Indian Society of Analytical Scientists (ISAS), and the Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC), Nagpur, under the Ministry of Mines. This event was co-organized by the Department of Chemistry, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur and Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur (RCOEM). Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Chief Guest of the inaugurated the event. Dr. Raghaw Saran, Chairman of ISAS chaired the session. Dr. Pramod Padole, the Director of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) and to Dr. R. S. Pande, the Principal of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM) were the special guest during the Inaugural session. Dr. Sarvashree B. Sarvanan, the Director of the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD) was the Key-note speaker.



The valedictory sessions was held at JNARDDC, Nagpur and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Kinsukh Dasgupta, Scientific Officer and Head of the Advanced Carbon Materials Section in the Geology and Atomic Minerals Division (G & AMD) of the Materials Group at BARC, Mumbai and a awardee of Prestigeous Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Award.Dr.Avinash V. Bharati, RBU and Dr. Atul V. Wankhade, VNIT were the convenor, Dr. Chandrashekhar P. Pandhurnekar, Co-convenor was the co-convenor this program. Researchers, academia and scientific fraternity across the various states of India gathered in this Science Congress.




ATAL Online Faculty Training Programme on "Rare Earth Based Novel Nanomaterials / Materials for Various Applications
The Department of Chemistry at Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), Nagpur, has successfully organized an AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) Sponsored ATAL Online Faculty Training Programme on “Rare Earth Based Novel Nanomaterials / Materials for Various Applications.” The program was held from 9th December to 14th December 2024 and witnessed an overwhelming response from over 175 participants from various parts of India.
The Faculty Development Program (FDP) was inaugurated by distinguished personalities, including Dr. Shankar S. Mantha, Chancellor of Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur and former Chairman of the National Regulator (AICTE); Dr. Rajesh S. Pande, Vice Chancellor of Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur; and Dr. M. B. Chandak, Principal (offg) of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management.
The FDP brought together a prestigious line-up of experts from academia, industry like Park sysyems and LINCON technology USA, and prominent government organizations, including the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. These experts, with more than 25 years of experience in their respective fields, shared valuable insights into the application of rare earth elements and nanomaterials in modern technology and industry.The FDP aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty members and researchers involved in the fields of material science, chemistry, and engineering, by exploring the latest advancements in nanotechnology and materials science.
Dr. S. S. Butoliya, Assistant Professor at RCOEM, and Dr.Raunak Kumar Tamrakar, Assistant Professor at BIT, Durg, coordinated the program. The event was supported by all members of the Department of Chemistry, RCOEM, who contributed to its success.
