Department of Physics
The mission of the department is to develop ability in the students to correlate and apply the basic principles of physics, to develop need-based engineering applications. The department is involved in teaching various courses such as Quantum computing, Acoustics, Semiconductors Physics, Nanotechnology, Materials for Biotechnology, Sensors for Robotics, Oscillations & Waves, Electromagnetic fields and open electives. The Department trains students on IBM quantum lab and also on Mathematica software as the analytical tool. The department also offers value added courses on Gas sensors technology and ESP 32 for IoT.
Faculty
Faculties have to their credit, more than hundred research publications in reputed internationals journals indexed in SCI, Web of Science and Scopus and also in reputed conferences in various research areas such as theoretical optics and materials synthesis. They have five utility patents granted till date with the organization.
A grant of more than 1 Crore has been received by the department through various research projects funded by ICMR, DST, BARC, SERB and AICTE and a dedicated well-equipped Luminescence lab which is only of its kind in central India was is set up. The instruments in the lab are precision balance, portable USB spectrophotometer, Fluorescence spectrophotometer (Hitachi F-7000) and all the facilities for chemical synthesis of phosphors. Several research students have carried out their Ph.D. work in this lab. It has also completed one MoU with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.
