Procedure for Admissionfor Children of Indian workers in other countries (GULF-NRI)/NRI Ward / Children of Gulf NRI / Foreign National / PIO Quota as per Government instructions.
Definitions:
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) means persons who are citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or that person or either of his / her grandparents or any of his/her grand parents was a citizen of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Sec 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No.57 of 1955).
- Foreign Nationals means Citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO.
- Foreign Student in this context shall be defined as the student who possesses a foreign passport.
- ‘NRI’:Non Resident Indian as per the definition given in section 6 of the Income Tax Act 1961.
- ‘NRI Candidate’:Means a candidate who is a child/ward of the person who has the ‘NRI status’ as defined under section 6 of the Income Tax Act.
Admission Procedure:
AICTE has extended approval for FN/PIO/Children of Gulf NRI (15% supernumerary quota) and 5% for NRI within sanctioned intake (Letter F.No. Western/1-10970336825/2022/EOA dated 3-July-2022).
Note: 5% seats for NRI Ward quota within sanctioned intake, and 15% seats for FN/PIO/Children of Gulf NRI quota, over and above the sanctioned intake, as per AICTE.
Admission Procedure for First Year B.Tech:
- Online registration of applications is required on DTE as foreign candidate. Candidates should send the print of the online filled application form and required documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification and confirmation to “The Principal, Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE), Versova Road, Munshi Nagar, Andheri (West), Mumbai-400058”.
- Candidates shall write on the envelope “Application for NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National”.

RBU Application & Admission Process
All admissions to different programs in RBU, Nagpur shall be based on the merit of scores secured in entrance tests as mentioned in the admission brochure
Instructions for filling the application form
- Visit the official website of RBU Nagpur, i.e., rbunagpur.in for admission request form.
- Click on the button showing “On line Application Portal for UG/PG/PhD Admission process”
- You will land on page showing form for “Register yourself”
- If registering for the first time, then fill the registration form by clicking on the “Register” button.
- During registration you will receive OTP for mobile number verification. You will also receive one Email for email id verification.
- After successful verification, you will receive mail containing your login id and password.
- If you are already registered, then click on the “Login” button by using your Id and password provided during your registration process.
- On entering your Id and password you will land on dashboard page showing red button for “Apply now”
- Click on apply now and start filling the form
- While submitting duly filled in application form you have to pay application processing fees of Rs. 1000 online through payment gateway available on the page.
- Please read all instructions related to the application form beforehand.
- Fields which are * marked (in the application form) are to be filled in compulsorily.
Eligibility for NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC), Foreign National (FN) Candidates.
- i) The candidate should have passed the HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational Subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies or Electronics or Entrepreneurship subjects, and obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects taken together;
(ii) Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.
Eligibility Criteria
- Admissions to First Year B.E.: Candidates should have passed the HSSC (Std.XII) examination or its equivalent with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum of 50% marks in PCM combined.
- Candidates passing equivalent exams from outside India will have their eligibility decided by the University Authorities.
- Candidates in this category are not required to appear for MHT-CET/JEE (Main).
- Hostel admission, if needed, may be taken at the time of confirmation of admission. 5 rooms in the Girls hostel and 25 rooms in the Boys hostel have been reserved for FN/PIO/GULF/NRI students.

- Migration Certificate.
- Eligibility Certificate from concerned University.
- Nationality Certificate / Citizenship Certificate.
- VISA (Either working / business) of NRI / Guardian of NRI.
- Employer Certificate or Salary Certificate of NRI.
- Passport copy of NRI / Guardian of NRI.
- Transcripts, if any (applicable for Foreign Students).
- Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, Delhi (address: AIU house, 16 Comrade Indrajit Gupta Marg, New Delhi-2)

- Affidavit of family chart duly signed by sponsor making clear relationship
- Leaving certificates, Birth extracts, mark sheets, PAN Card, Passport, Marriage
- Certificate of all members shown on family tree/chart.
- Eligibility Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi (AIU) if candidate passed Qualifying examination from abroad.
