NVIDIA- Centre of Excellence

RCOEM in association with NVIDIA has set-up the 1st Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Deep learning (AI & DL) in central India. Core purpose of this centre is to build a high throughput Al compute infrastructure to create a pool of skilled manpower in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Data Science and Analytics to conduct research and development based on industry relevant live use cases.

The NVIDIA Center of Excellence offers unprecedented computing facilities. It is equipped with A100 NVIDIA DGX server providing a high-speed computing platform for designing AI based deep learning applications. It accelerates both training and inference for complex deep learning models.

Outcome from Center of Excellence

Received Project Grant worth Rs. 2.13 Cr for the following two projects

  • Development of Coal Quality Exploration Technique based on Convolutional Neural Network and Hyperspectral Images
  • Indigenous development of NIR Spectroscope for instant prediction of coal quality parameters.
  • No of Publications in SCI & Scopus Journals: 10

Laboratories

Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Emerging Technologies Department has good laboratory facilities for the effective implementation of Teaching-learning process. There is total Eighteen (18) laboratories as DT 109, DT 111, DT 105, DT 209, DT 211, DT 205,DT303,DT306, DT307, DT409, DT411, DT405, DT505, DT509, DT511,DT605, DT609, DT611forUndergraduate program with investment of ₹ 5,86,17,189.00.These laboratories play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling the students to gain hands-on experience in various domains of computing. All the laboratories are equipped with the state-of-the-art infrastructure. These labs are equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure, high-performance computing systems, and the latest software tools to support various domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Networking, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Software Development. All the laboratories have trained technical personnel to assist in lab activities and ensure smooth conduction of practical sessions. They will ensure that all systems and software are up to date, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain a smooth lab environment. The well-equipped and efficiently managed laboratory facilities ensure that students receive practical exposure and stay up to date with emerging technologies, preparing them for industry and research-oriented careers in Computer Science & Engineering.

Other ambience

The department has spacious and well-maintained infrastructure with adequate number of classrooms, tutorial rooms, laboratories, staff cabins, department library, common room, Conference room etc.All the laboratories, corridors and classrooms are well ventilated with ample natural light.The Labs and classrooms have good interior with false ceiling, wide green boards, white boards, dais & interactive display panel.Audio-video system, microphone, speakers and internet connectivity are provided in all labs and classrooms. There is one seminar hall and 5 conference room.

Department Library

The departmental library is a sanctuary of knowledge, thoughtfully designed to foster learning & research activities. With a comfortable seating capacity for 16-20 students, it provides a serene and focused environment for study and collaboration. The library is equipped with a modern smartboard & PC for learning experience. Our extensive collection includes books on every subject, along with seminar papers and project reports, offering students valuable references for their academic growth. There are around 500 books of various subjects.

Research and Development Lab

The High-Performance Computing (HPC) Lab is a state-of-the-art facility designed to support cutting-edge research and development in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL). The lab is equipped with powerful NVIDIA GPU-based computing systems optimized for the training and deployment of large-scale neural network models across diverse domains such as Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI etc.
