- The Department of Humanities was established in 1997 with the objective of building and polishing the communication, soft, and social skills of budding technocrats as well as equip them to develop enhanced contextual understanding about various aspects of the society

Dr. Deepshikha Mehra
Head of Department
She has a Ph.D. in Economics(funded by Indiana University, USA through SHODH).She has been associated with over 20 research projects on natural resource management as a full-time researcher. Dr. Mehra has been a gold medalist in MA Economics and was awarded a Research and Writing fellowship by University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. She has over 40 national and international journal publications, chapters in edited books, and research paper presentations and has authored two books, edited one, and formatted one.
She has international training in natural resource management from South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) and International Forestry Resources and Institutions (IFRI). With over 30 years of work experience of administration, research, and teaching, she is a recognized Ph.D supervisor by RTMNU and RBU.
Mehra founded and mentored REEF the environment club of RCOEM (now RBU) and won Wipro’s international Earthian award in 2015.She is a hobbyist bird watcher and wildlife photographer. Wildlife photographs clicked by her have been published in Tadoba Coffee Table book by Sanctuary Asia.
