"Educate, Innovate, Elevate: The Blueprint of an Aatmanirbhar India"- Shri. Chandrakant (Dada) Patil
RBU, Nagpur held its First Convocation Ceremony on 12 September 2026, at the university campus, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey.
“Focus on practical skills, not just degrees,” urged Shri. Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, who graced the event as Chief Guest, also congratulated Ramdeobaba University (RBU) on its first convocation and spoke on the importance of higher education.
He said that certain facets of NEP 2020 required improvement, suggesting that practical experience be imparted to students irrespective of their degrees. He advised graduates to focus on startup creation, research, innovation, incubation, and patents, and to contribute meaningfully to society in India’s pursuit of developed nation status by 2047. Citing examples of a smart helmet and a pain-free method of testing blood sugar levels, he noted that such research-driven, innovative products would ultimately drive the nation’s prosperity. He emphasized on acquiring multilingual skills for global outreach.
He also unveiled RBU’s blockchain-secured degree certificates, a first-of-its-kind innovation embedding a QR code for tamper-proof, instant verification.
Addressing the gathering through a video message, Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, hailed the convocation day as “a moment of gratitude, pride, and new beginnings.” He encouraged students to become multifaceted individuals, in line with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047.’ He highlighted Nagpur’s potential in advancing ‘Viksit Maharashtra’ and uplifting rural communities. He acknowledged parents’ sacrifices in fulfilling their children’s dreams, and urged all to go forth and make RBU proud.
“True success lies in our ability to turn adversity into our advantage,” said Padma Shri awardee, Shri. Satyanarayan Nuwal, Chairman, Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti (SRSS) addressing the graduates. He reminded them that the world is abundant with opportunities, visible only to those with vision and discernment and carry forward the values instilled at RBU.
In his presidential address, Dr. S. S. Mantha, President, RBU called for institutions that value questioning over conformity, urging graduates to lead a balanced, globally conscious life and remain intellectually restless rather than merely employable.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajesh Pande, Vice-Chancellor, RBU, reflected on the University’s journey and urged graduates to learn and unlearn in the age of AI.
Degrees were conferred upon graduates of MBA, MCA and M.Tech., with six medals for academic excellence, including Gold Medals to Aniket Purushottam Pandey (MBA), Purva Vyawahare (MCA), and ChetaliLal krushna Karan jekar (M.Tech), and Silver Medals to Jessica Bhatt (MBA), Jahnavee Singh (MCA), and Rupak Bhaisare (M.Tech).
Prominently present at the ceremony were Shri. Rajendra Purohit, General Secretary (SRSS), Dr. Purushottam Paldiwal, Vice Chairman (SRSS), Shri. Pradipkumar Agrawal, Shri. Kailashchand Agrawal, Adv. Pradip Agrawal, Shri. Ashokkumar Pacheriwala, Shri. Dinesh Agrawal, and Shri. Rajesh Sanghani along with faculty members and numerous proud parents of the graduating students.
Dr. Sanjay Bodkhe, Registrar, Dr. Manoj Chandak, Director Academics, Dr. Abhijeet Agashe, Controller of Examinations, RBU, Dr. Vishal Shukla, Coordinator, Convocation Ceremony, Chairperson and Members of SRSS, Representatives of Members of Governing Body and the Board of Management, and Deans and Chairman of Boards of Studies of various departments, were prominently present. Dr. Prachi Saoji, Dr.Priti Mangrulkar and Dr.Rijuta Joshi conducted the proceedings of the ceremony.
