Ramdeobaba University has established partnerships with numerous national and international universities to facilitate global academic integration. These collaborations aim to enhance teaching, research, and academic advancements, while also enriching the educational experiences of students and faculty. They are designed to improve the employability through curriculum development, foster creative and practical learning approaches, and provide opportunities for national and international study platforms. These goals are pursued through initiatives such as short-term programs, mutually beneficial projects, distance learning offerings, sharing of best practices, and exchanges of students and faculty. Additionally, the collaborations focus on developing academic and research methodologies, as well as continuing education programs.

Overview of RBU
Ramdeobaba University (RBU) is a self-financed University approved by Government of Maharashtra and University Grant Commission, New Delhi. It stands as a testament to a forty- year educational journey, rooted in the cultivation of human potential with a strong emphasis on universal values. Formerly known as Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (RCOEM), the university inherits a rich legacy from its predecessor.
Established in 1984 by the Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti, Nagpur, under the visionary leadership of founding Chairman Shri Banwarilal Purohit, RCOEM saw a transformative era under the stewardship of Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, CEO of Solar Group of Industries, recognized among India’s top 100 CEOs. This leadership propelled RCOEM to national prominence, evident through its high NIRF ranking, A+ NAAC grade, Diamond Rating by QS I-Gauge, Innovative Campus Award, National Employability Award, and various other accolades.
Bolstered by a robust startup ecosystem and five Centers of Excellence in collaboration with industry giants like Tata Technologies and NVIDIA, RCOEM provided students with exposure to cutting-edge technologies. Its alumni, comprising unicorn founders and leaders in global organizations, further enriched its legacy.
In pursuit of broader progress, RCOEM has now evolved into Ramdeobaba University (RBU). Spanning 17 acres in Nagpur, Central India. RBU houses nine schools such as the School of Engineering Sciences, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Management, School of Humanities and Sciences, School of Innovation and Incubation, School of Indian Knowledge System (IKS), School of Languages, and School of Entrepreneurship. Offering a diverse array of undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., diploma, certificate, and value-added courses, RBU blends modern and traditional knowledge systems.
RBU’s distance education programs cater to regional needs, providing quality education and skill development for local industries. Collaborations with national and international institutions and industries enhance exposure to global technologies, equipping students to compete globally. RBU is located in Nagpur which is the third-largest city of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is called the heart of India because of its central geographical location. Also known as, the “Orange City”, Nagpur is the 13th largest city in India.

Visit by Prof. Georges Zissis, Vice-Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Toulouse, France
Prof. Georges ZISSIS, Vice-Dean Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Toulouse, France, visited the RBU campus on 3rd May 2025.
Prof. Zissis graduated from the University of Crete in general Physics in 1986. He obtained master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Plasma Physics from the University of Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier in 1987 and 1990, respectively, and then became a full professor there; in 2011, he was awarded the “Professor Honoris Causa” honorary degree from the Physics Department of Saint Petersburg State University. In December 2006, he won the 1st Award of the Centenary Challenge of the International Electrotechnical Commission, and in 2009 became a recipient of the Energy Globe Award and Fresnel Medal from the French Illuminating Engineering Society. His primary area of work is in the field of Light Sources Science and Technology.

Prof. Georges Zissis interacted with RBU faculty regarding probable research opportunities at his University in the area of Smart Lighting Systems Technology and Illumination for Smart Cities.
Exclusively designed for third-year students of multiple disciplines, the program offered a unique combination of academic learning and cultural immersion, providing valuable insights into advanced fields such as AI, robotics, semiconductors and cutting-edge engineering technologies, while fostering a global perspective along with Japan’s cultural experience.
This two-week program featured technical seminars and industrial visits, including two renowned industrial facilities: Micron and JFE Steel. These visits effectively bridged academic concepts with real-world applications, inspiring students to explore careers in sustainable engineering and advanced manufacturing.
Transdisciplinary Immersion Program at Hiroshima University, Japan
Under credit transfer, 21 students of Ramdeobaba University participated in Transdisciplinary Immersion Program, held from 30th January to 10th February 2025, at Hiroshima University, Japan, as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ramdeobaba University (RBU), Nagpur, and Hiroshima University, along with two faculty members, Dr. (Mrs.) Meghana A. Hasamnis, Director, National and International Relations, and Dr. (Mrs.) MridulaKorde,Deputy Director, National and International Relations.

Under the MoU with U2U System, Singapore, a specialized skill development, internship, and placement program is introduced to gain practical exposure and enhancement of skills. Ramdeobaba University has signed an MoU with U2U Centre for Technology Skills and Research, Singapore on 30th November 2024.This MoU aims to provide Industry Skills, Internships and Placement opportunity through a team of Industry experts.

Ramdeobaba University has signed an MoU with Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), Pilani on 10th August 2024 for the purpose of academic collaborations and research partnerships.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Reutlingen University, Germany
Ramdeobaba University (RBU), Nagpur has signed an MOU with Knowledge Foundation @ Reutlingen University (KFRU), Germany on 2nd August 2024.
With this MoU, RBU students will be eligible for their Employment Linked Program – Master of Science (MS) program in Professional Software Engineering in partnership with MHP Porsche at Reutlingen University, Germany.
This unique collaboration aims to combine the academic excellence of Knowledge Foundation – Reutlingen University, the practical expertise of MHP Porsche, and the innovative spirit of RBU to provide a world-class educational experience offering students valuable industry exposure and practical experience with MPH Porsche.

Visit by Prof. Mohan Kolhe, University of Agder, Norway
Prof. Mohan Kolhe, Professor in Smart Grid and Renewable Energy, Faculty of Engineering & Science, University of Agder, Norway, visited the RBU campus on 15th July 2024.
Prof. Mohan Kolhe is a leading renewable energy technologist with three decades of academic experience at the international level and previously held academic positions at the world’s prestigious universities, i.e., University College London (UK / Australia), University of Dundee (UK), University of Jyvaskyla (Finland), Hydrogen Research Institute, QC (Canada) etc. In addition, he was a member of the Government of South Australia’s first Renewable Energy Board (2009-2011) and worked on developing renewable energy policies.
Professor Kolhe has been successful in obtaining competitive research funding from prestigious research bodies (such as the Norwegian Research Council, EU, EPSRC, BBSRC, NRP, etc.) for his work on sustainable energy systems. His work on energy systems and electrical & electronic engineering has been recognized in the top 2% of scientists worldwide consistently from 2020 to 2023, according to Stanford University matrices based on Elsevier data. His top 10 publications have received an average of more than 200 citations each, making him an acknowledged pioneer in his profession on a global scale.

GUIDELINES FOR 3 + 1 PROGRAM AT HIROSHIMA UNIVERSITY, JAPAN
SESSION 2025-26
This document outlines the procedural framework for facilitating student participation in the 3+1 Program (October 2025 – June 2026) at Hiroshima University, Japan, for the academic session 2025–26.
Eligibility Criteria
All regular B.Tech. students (from all disciplines) who have successfully completed the V Semester without live backlogs, are eligible to apply for the program.
Application Process
The Office of National and International Relations shall disseminate the tentative schedule along with the requisite application details to all eligible students.
Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates shall be undertaken by the authorities at Hiroshima University. The selection will be based on the evaluation of the applicant’s research proposal and performance in a personal interview.
After selection of student for the program, student will submit “No Objection Certificate” from respective Head of the Department and Name of the Mentor to the Office of National and International Relations.
Program Structure
Students can engage with their assigned supervisor at Hiroshima University in an online mode from 1st October 2025 to 30th November 2025. Students will join physically at Hiroshima University from 1st December 2025 and they will stay at Hiroshima University till 30th June 2026.
Students will complete the credit requirements of VII Semester at RCOEM. The credits for VIII Semester will be transferred as “Research Internship” after receiving the completion certificate from Hiroshima University.
Faculty Coordination and Mentorship
The respective department shall appoint a Faculty Coordinator who will act as a Mentor and will be responsible for monitoring the academic progress and engagement of the student during the program.
