Photography is the art of observation even in the daily mundane of life, the art of noticing beauty in things ignored by everyone else, the art that captures life in its true form, nature, and every fleeting moment through a creative lens. Established in 2015, our Photography Club was founded with the aim of nurturing a passion for photography among students—both amateur and professional. We provide a platform for aspiring photographers to explore diverse genres, express their creativity, and develop technical skills through regular workshops, competitions, and collaborative projects. From documenting campus events to curating themed photo walks, the club fosters a vibrant community where art meets storytelling. Recently, it was blessed with a name—Nazariya: The Photography Club—reflecting our unique perspective. The club carries out the activities with the help of student coordinators who are guided by the mentor faculty of the club Prof. Lokesh Heda and Prof. Yoginee Pethe.

Club Auditions

To ensure active and passionate participation, the club conducts auditions for new members. Interested students are invited to showcase their photography skills and creativity through a short portfolio or theme-based submissions. Selected candidates become part of the core team and contribute to various club activities throughout the year.

At the start of each academic year, the club hosts an orientation to introduce new students. The session highlights the club’s vision, key activities, and achievements, while also encouraging new members to join and explore their passion for photography.

The club organizes photowalks to various locations, allowing members to learn photography hands-on in natural settings. These outings also help foster stronger bonds among members and encourage creative exploration outside the classroom.

The club regularly conducts workshops throughout the year focusing on advanced photography concepts, lighting techniques, camera handling, and post-processing using photo and video editing software. These sessions aim to enhance both technical and artistic skills.

The club actively posts on its official Instagram page. Each week, the best photograph taken by a club member is featured, encouraging consistent engagement, creativity, and healthy competition among members.

Picasso is an exciting photography competition organized annually as part of the college’s cultural fest, Pratishruti. It challenges participants to capture compelling stories and visuals based on unique themes, fostering creativity under time constraints.

The club handles complete media coverage of Pratishruti, the college’s annual fest. This involves a coordinated effort in capturing photographs, recording videos, interviewing participants, and editing final content. The official Pratishruti After movie is also produced by the club, showcasing the highlights of the event with cinematic storytelling.
