Placement

One of the primary objectives of the department is to nurture and develop a diverse set of skills among students while providing them with ample opportunities to explore their potential. The department is dedicated to providing every student with the knowledge and opportunities needed to pursue a career that aligns with their passions and goals.

The graduating students typically have three major career avenues:
i) Securing employment through on-campus placement drives.
ii) Pursuing higher education by clearing competitive entrance examinations for admission into prestigious national and international institutions.
iii) Venturing into entrepreneurship by starting their own business or joining innovative start-up ecosystems.

To support students in achieving their career goals, proactive measures are taken by the institute to enhance both the quality and quantity of placement opportunities.

Initiatives for Placements:

  • The institute has taken initiative to prepare students for placements by conducting training sessions by industry experts. The training is conducted for second year and third year students. The competitive coding training provided a robust foundation in algorithmic thinking, problem-solving, and coding efficiency. Regular practice on platforms like HackerRank, LeetCode, and HackerEarth by students has significantly enhanced their skills and preparedness for technical interviews.
  • Various guest lectures are organized by the department on recent trends in the industry, to enhance students’ knowledge about the recent and upcoming domains assisting in placements.
  • Aptitude development programs are conducted and Students appear for AMCAT tests to enhance their skills.
  • Students go for a full semester internship in VIII Semester, increasing the placement opportunity.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in global certification exams. Interested students are also given training for AWS certification examin college.
  • Alumni or final year students conduct placement guidance sessions for Third year students.

Initiatives for Higher Studies:

  • Students are encouraged to pursue higher studies. RCOEM Research internship programme allows final year students inclined towards research to pursue research internships instead of company internships during the VIII Semester.
  • The higher education cell of the college guides students for pursuing higher education from foreign universities and National institutes.

Initiatives for Entrepreneurship:

  • To foster the culture of entrepreneurship, ED Cell is functional at the college and department level. Various activities are conducted by the ED cell to create awareness about entrepreneurship.
  • There is a dedicated TBI incubation center in the college providing financial and technical support to convert an idea into a product.

It details the percentage of students who have received placement, gone for Higher studies and are entrepreneurs (%PHE). It is observed that the placements and %PHE are consistent over the last three years. Moreover, the %PHE is above 95% consistently.

Students appear for various entrance examinations like Graduate Aptitude Test Examination

(GATE), Graduate record Examination (GRE), Common Entrance Test (CAT), GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc. for the admission to higher studies.Details about the number of students admitted in Premier Institutions for higher studies is given in Table7.3.4 for the assessment period and number of students appearing for various exams during the years of assessment are given in table 7.3.5. List of students pursuing higher studies is given in Table 7.3.6.
