Ramdeobaba University Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervor
Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur, commemorated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of national pride on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the RBU campus. The celebration witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, staff, and invited guests, creating an atmosphere imbued with unity and patriotism.
The theme of this year’s Republic Day celebration was “150 Years of Vande Mataram”, symbolizing the enduring legacy of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s iconic composition. The theme highlighted Vande Mataram not merely as a song, but as a powerful expression of India’s freedom struggle, cultural unity, and collective national consciousness over the past one and a half centuries.
The programme commenced with the arrival of the dignitaries which was then followed by the solemn flag hoisting ceremony and the rendition of the National Anthem, evoking a strong sense of reverence and respect for the nation.
In the keynote address, Dr. Rajesh Pande, Vice Chancellor of RBU, emphasized the crucial role of youth in nation-building, underscoring values such as responsibility, integrity, discipline, and active citizenship in strengthening the country’s democratic fabric.
The cultural segment featured captivating performances by various student clubs of the University, including the Dance Club, Music Club, Drama Club, and Literary Club. Each performance beautifully echoed the spirit of patriotism and resonated with the central theme, earning wide appreciation from the audience. The vibrant expressions and artistic presentations reflected the students’ creativity and their deep connection to national values.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the NSS Secretary, acknowledging the efforts of all contributors, organizers, and participants who ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event. The celebration concluded with refreshments, marking a fitting end to a memorable Republic Day at Ramdeobaba University.
