Visvesvaraya Ph.D Scheme, MeitY, Govt. of India
Applications are invited to Ph.D. program in following departments:
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
Registration Categories:
- D. (Full time): 2 seats
- D. (Part time): 1 seat
NOTE: Full Time fellowship @ Rs. 38,750/- per month in 1st & 2nd Years and Rs. 43,750/-per month in 3rd, 4th and 5th years of PhD and reimbursement of Rent (RoR) (Class Y @ 16%) is applicable, as per the scheme.
Eligibility:
- Candidates who have qualified for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/ UGC-CSIR NET / GATE / CEED / RTMNU-PET / RCOEM-PETand othernational leveltests.
- Candidates who have not qualified for above exams can also apply, however, such candidatesshallhavetoappearforanentrancetest(RBU-PET)scheduledon28thApril,2025 at 11 am, to be conducted at respective Department, followed by personal interview.
No objection certificate will be required from sponsoring body for working professionals.

The Registration fees for appearing in RBU-PET shall be Rs. 1000/-.
Schedule of RBU-PhD Entrance Test (RBU-PET), 28thApril, 2025 as follows:
10.00 am to 11.00 am: Document Verification
11.00 am to 12.00 pm: Paper-1
12.30 pm to 1.30 pm: Paper -2
2.00 pm onwards: Interviews
Pattern of Examination:
SectionA—Basic Research Methodology and General Aptitude
SectionB— Subject Aptitude
- Section A and B shall have maximum 50 marks each
- Syllabus for PET Examination:
Section A—Basic Research Methodology and General Aptitude
- Basic Research Methodology, Analytical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and Language Competency
Section B — Subject Aptitude
- Syllabus for respective disciplines (Engineering) / GATE / NET
Criteria of Passing:
Minimum 50 % marks in aggregate
Conduction of Examination
RBU-PET shall be conducted in respective departments.
