COMPUSYS is the official student body of CSE established in 2006. It helps to bridge the gap between the students. It organizes various events throughout the year namely two major events – Manzar and Polaris. Manzar is the welcome given to III semester students by organizing cultural and personality contests while Polaris is the techno-cultural event. Manzar offers various events like Wolf of the Wall Street, Eminence, Monologue and various other cultural events while Polaris hosts various technical and co-curricular events like treasure hunts, project competitions and workshops. Apart from these, Compusys organizes various skill enhancement, social events and sports events too.

Compusys Cultural Night

The Polaris Cultural Night, held on February 3, 2024, celebrated diversity and talent within the Computer Science Department. Organized by Compusys, the event featured captivating dance and musical performances, beatboxing, and a Bollywood-themed fashion show. With 57 participants and 211 attendees, it fostered cultural appreciation and unity, leaving a lasting impression.

Polaris’24, the five-day annual intercollegiate techno-cultural festival organized by Compusys, the CSE student society at RCOEM, was held from January 29 to February 3, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Amit Kale, Associate VP at Global Logic Pvt. Ltd., who shared insights on the six essential C’s for success. The festival featured technical and extracurricular activities, with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing achievements under various student forums. Polaris’24 concluded with a vibrant cultural evening, celebrating innovation, collaboration, and student excellence. 

Manzar-2023, organized by COMPUSYS, welcomed II-year CSE students from April 17-24, 2023. The event featured Eminence, a four-round contest to select Ms. & Mr. CSE 2023, along with music & dance competitions. A section-wise Sports Cup fostered camaraderie through Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Tug-of-War, and Lagori. Other highlights included a photography competition and a website development challenge. Manzar-23 provided a holistic platform for intellectual, artistic, athletic, and technological growth.

Polaris, a national level technical festival was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, RCOEM, Nagpur on 2nd and 3rd December, 2022. The event was formally inaugurated on 2nd Dec, 2022. Mr. Aditya Bhatia, Centre Head of Tech Mahindra was Chief Guest and Mr. Mandar Limaye, Customer Delivery Manager at Tech Mahindra was Guest of Honor for the event. He elucidated the importance of elementary knowledge to students with apparent examples. The various activities were conducted under Compusys- the CSE student forum. Technical events were conducted by the various RCOEM chapters. The Fest concluded with a high-spirited cultural evening on 3rd Dec 2022.

In September 2021, the Student Executive Body for COMPUSYS and five chapters (ACM, CSI, CodeChef, Google DSC, OASIS – ED Cell) was announced. The department also launched the Intel Student Ambassador program and IoT Club, led by Sayandeep Ghosh (V semester). The Intel program allows students to use Intel’s oneAPI for enhanced programming on Intel CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs. The IoT Club executive members include Ashtavinayak Pande, Janmejay Rathi, Radha Malichkar, Sameer Mishra, and Lakshita Werulkar.

A webinar on “Problem Solving for Placements” was held by the RCOEM CodeChef chapter on 26th September 2021, with Mr. Nishant Khanorkar, MTS at VMWare, as the speaker. The session aimed to emphasize the role of competitive coding in placement preparation and provide guidance on getting started with competitive programming. The webinar, which concluded with an interaction with the industry expert, saw 250 participants and received positive feedback, making it a great success.

On 18th September 2021, the Google DSC RCOEM Chapter organized a competition named “Bappa ka Prasad” on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The event aimed to help students enhance their coding skills and understand programming logic. It introduced participants to competitive programming and various CP platforms. The event saw 532 attendees from different colleges and 15 collaborators, with Newton Coding Club sponsoring the prizes.

Compusys, the student society of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, conducted an induction program for III semester students (CSE, Data Science, Cyber Security, and AIML) on 10th December 2021, 2 PM onwards. The event was held online via Zoom on the second day of Drishti-2021.
