Research
A grant of more than 1 Crore has been received by the department through various research projects funded by ICMR, DST, BARC, SERB and AICTE and a dedicated well-equipped Luminescence lab which is only of its kind in central India was set up. It has also completed one MoU with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. The instruments in the lab are precision balance, portable USB spectrophotometer, all the for chemical synthesis of phosphors, Fluorescence spectrophotometer (Hitachi F-7000). Several research students have carried out their PhD work in this lab.
Industry Institute Interaction
LEDCHIP INDUS Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad, where the faculties visit, test the materials or the compounds synthesized in the Physics lab of RBU, for developing their low cost, monochromatic and UV LEDs. Two patents are granted as an outcome of this work.
