NSS Program Officer
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian Government sector Public Service Program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairsand Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS and aimed at developing student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community (esp. Villages) linkage. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.
About Officer
Dr. Amit Anurag is a Faculty in the Department of Physical Education. Holding a Doctoral degree in Physical Education, along with a BPE, MPEd, and MPhil, he has also qualified the NET and SET examinations. He has 07 years’ Experience as NSS Program officer.
VISION / MISSION
The motto of NSS ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’ reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need of selfless service. The programme aims to instilling the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS unit work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity.

INDEPENDENCE DAY: 15TH August 2024
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and the Department of Physical Education at Ramdeobaba University commemorated the 78th Independence Day at the premises of Ramdeobaba University Campus with great zeal and enthusiasm on 15th August 2024.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, which was followed by the singing of the national anthem, instilling a profound sense of pride and reverence among the attendees. The celebration was honoured by the esteemed presence of Shri Shyamsundar ji Rathi, Executive Member and Chairman of the Steering Committee of Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti, who also served as the chief guest for the occasion. The event also welcomed a distinguished array of guests, including Shri Kailash chand Agrawal, Secretary; Dr.Purshottam Paldiwal, Member; Bhagwandas Daga, Member; Shri Dinesh Agrawal, Member; Shri Rajesh Sanghani, Member; and Dr. Rajesh Pande, Vice Chancellor of RBU. The gathering was further enriched by the presence of the Director and Deans from various schools. Shri Shyam sundar Rathi ji delivered a compelling and inspirational speech that profoundly resonated with the audience. His address highlighted the significance of unity and underscored the pivotal role of education in the process of nation-building.
The theme for this year’s Independence Day was “Viksit Bharat 2047,” which envisions India’s progress and development by the year 2047, marking a century of independence. This theme underscores the nation’s aspirations for a prosperous, inclusive, and technologically advanced India, aiming for significant growth and advancement in various sectors.
All the cultural performances during the event were centred around this theme. The Literary Club’s presentation explored the vision for a developed India, while the musical, drama, and dance performances collectively highlighted the aspirations and potential of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. These performances effectively illustrated the theme’s emphasis on unity, progress, and the collective effort needed to realize this vision for the future.
The event proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. The commitment and dedication of the students, faculty, and organizing committee were clearly reflected in the flawless execution of the program, making it a memorable commemoration of India’s independence.
The success of the event was further supported by the dedicated efforts of 40 Music Club members, 25 Dance Club members, 06 Literary Club Members and 07 members from the Drama Club performed. Additionally, 100 NSS volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. The event was skilfully moderated by SukhadaChepe from the EN department, a third-year student, and NachiketDespande from the IT department, also in their third year. The event was attended by over 500 spectators, encompassing teaching and non-teaching faculty as well as students.
The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by NSS Secretary Yash Ghoderao. In his remarks, he expressed sincere gratitude to the esteemed guests, participants, and all those who contributed to the event’s success. The NSS Unit of RBU, in collaboration with various departments, organized the event, which was attended by many teachings as well as non-teaching staff, students and many others.

REPUBLIC DAY: 26th January 2025
January 26th, celebrated as Republic Day, serves as a reminder of the nation’s dedication to democratic governance, promoting unity, and honoring the diversity of its people. The day is marked with patriotic enthusiasm, highlighting the country’s strength in diversity. Recognizing what we gained and lost so far, Ramdeobaba University commemorated the 76th Republic Day, emphasizing on the theme, “Swarnim Bharat – Virasataur Vikaas”. The celebrations commenced at 09.30 am with a flag hoisting ceremony by the hands of honorable chief guest Shri. Shyam Sunder Rathi ji (Chairman of Steering Committee, RBU) in the presence of Shri. Kailash chand Agrawal (Secretary), executive members – Shri. Bhagwandas Daga, Shri. Dinesh Agrawal, Shri. Rajesh Sanghani, along with Dr. R.S. Pande (Vice-Chancellor, RBU), Dr. Manoj Chandak (Principal, RCOEM), Dr. Amit Anurag (Programme Officer, NSS Unit), Deans, HODs and other dignitaries. NSS volunteers – Ms. Suvidhi Sancheti and Mr. Prashill Bhattad were the anchors during the event. Everyone stood in salute as the National flag was hoisted, and the National Anthem was sung in unison. Following this, our chief guest delivered an inspiring speech that resonated deeply with the audience, leaving them filled with a sense of patriotism. The programme further proceeded with various performances by NSS Unit, Literary Club, Music Club, Dance Club and Drama Club, making the audience speechless. Furthermore, the event was concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Ms. Khushi Agrawal (Secretary, NSS Unit). Around 80 student participants of Literary Club, Music Club, Dance Club and Drama Club and the 75 NSS Volunteers made this event a grand success.
